Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch released a statement this afternoon praising the actions of Sally Yates, the acting Attorney General up until last night.
Yates (a holdover from the Obama administration) assumed the position after Lynch left on January 20th. Yesterday she directed the DOJ not to enforce President Trump‘s executive order limiting U.S. entry on refugees and people from 7 predominantly-Muslim nations. She was fired hours later and received both plaudits and criticism for her actions.
Lynch released the following statement praising Yates:
