During a press conference in Washington today, Attorney General Loretta Lynch said that the Department of Justice is helping local authorities to look into the tragic events that left 14 people dead yesterday in San Bernardino, California.
Lynch impressed that the investigation is still in its early stages, and that not much is known yet about why the two assailants attacked the Inland Regional Center, but whatever their reasons, Lynch emphatically denounced the violence as an antithesis of American values.

“One thing is clear: violence like this has no place in this country and in this nation,” Lynch said. “This is not what we stand for.”
Lynch offered her prayers and sympathies to the victims of the attack, but also added a call to take political action to make changes that would prevent similar incidents in the future.
“We’re at the point where these issues have come together really like never before in law enforcement thought and in our nation’s history and it gives us a wonderful opportunity and a wonderful moment to really make significant change,” said Lynch.
